Muskoka
Bordered by Parry Sound, Algonquin Park, Haliburton, Simcoe County and Georgian Bay, District 46 is the geographical gateway to the lakes and granite of the Precambrian shield.
In 2006 Muskoka became the newest RTO District, and with a new manageable size and enthusiastic and hardworking volunteers has become the District to watch.
We are attracting more RTO members each year and are one of the fastest growing Districts in terms of percentage growth of membership.

Welcome from the President Hello, and welcome to the RTO/ERO District 46 website. I hope that you will find it useful and informative. In addition to newsletters and postings about coming events in District 46, you will find information about scheduled performances in the three local theatres in Muskoka. Links to information about a number of issues of importance to seniors are worth exploring as well. I look forward to my year as President of District 46, and I hope that you will feel free to contact me with your thoughts about ways that we, as retired educators, can have a positive impact on education initiatives both locally and globally. Membership to RTO/ERO is open to all retired education workers in Ontario, and I encourage you to pass this on. Our members include not only teachers, but also administrators and school support staff, including school secretaries, custodians and educational assistants. Our RTO/ERO provincial membership is now more than 65,000 strong and growing steadily. As a large provincial organization, we can make a difference! I hope to see you at one of our planned District 46 events in Muskoka in the coming year. Please consider coming to the Fall Meeting and Luncheon on November 5th at the Turner Centre in Bracebridge, or to one of the Morning Recess Coffee Hours listed in the Summer 2009 newsletter. Sincerely, Lorna Walkling |
